What: This week our objective is to focus on paragraphing and including textual evidence within those paragraphs. We will also focus on WTK 3 since it is going to be a quick turn around for the test.
Why: Students currently have a basic understanding of paragraphing and writing with an analytical lens. We are tying to enhance that writing with textual evidence. How: We will practice vocabulary throughout the week with various strategies, and then we will take notes and practice the writing process. Students will also work with their peers to revise their pieces of writing. Objective: This week we will be MAP Testing. This shows us where students are at in college readiness, and what their skills are in Language Arts, Reading, and Math. We will then move into a new unit of WTK. Once that is complete, we will continuing practicing paragraphing.
Why: It is important to start learning how to incorporate textual evidence into our paragraphs. Students learning the beginning skills last year and we will build upon those this year. How: Students will take notes, practice vocabulary, practice putting together the parts of a paragraph, and do some peer review once they create their own paragraph.
