Weekly Expectations and Goals
What: This week we will be unpacking the trial scene of the book and focusing on our presentations. We will end with a writing activity. Why: The trial is one of the most important scenes from the novel so students will do an annotation/character study over each event. The presentations are also going to give the students some context about the history and the level of seriousness of the trial. How: We will complete annotations, have discussions, present infographics, and have a writing activity. Monday: 1. Reading Check 15-16 2. Discussion about Chapter16 3. Work on Infographics Tuesday: 1. Prefixes and Suffixes 2. Work time for infographics 3. Presentations HW: Chapter 17 Wednesday: 1. Reading Check 17 2. TIQA-IQA Practice Thursday: MAP Testing Friday: MAP Testing

Weekly Goals and Expectations
What: This week we will be focusing on digging into the time period and the race relations present. Why: During the next few chapters, the characters will experience racism first hand so I want to give students some real life accounts of the 1930s. How: We will be reading three different articles about the 30s. One will be a real-life account from an African American woman, another will be from the perspective of a woman in the 1960s, and finally a look at Jim Crows laws. Monday: 1. Chapter 13/14 Test 2. Recap the chapters 3. Annotations for Aunt Alexandra HW: Finish annotations Tuesday: 1. Prefixes and Suffixes 2. Time Period Articles and discussion HW: Chapter 15-16 and Annotations about Atticus and the trial Wednesday:1. Chapter 15-16 Quiz 2.
